NMC endorses new framework to address emerging concerns

Published on 08 May 2024

We’re joining other health and social care regulators in Northern Ireland to support a new intelligence sharing framework. This represents a collective commitment to work better with our partners, to share and respond to concerns, so together we can protect the public.

Sam Foster, NMC Executive Nurse Director of Professional Practice, said:

“As health and social care regulators, we have a core role in public protection. We’re therefore pleased to endorse, together with our partners, the launch of a new intelligence sharing framework, which underpins our regulatory role.

“Together we are part of a safety system, and this framework will enable us to better collaborate with our partners to identify, review and address emerging concerns at the earliest opportunity.

“We are confident that this joined up approach will ensure that with our partners, we can share and respond to information in a more timely and effective way, to protect people who use services and maintain trust and transparency in regulation.”
